പോയ്ക്കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍
ഒരിക്കല്‍ ഞാന്‍ തിരിച്ചു വരും
നിങ്ങള്‍ അത്താഴത്തിന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍
എന്നേ കാണും,കിണ്ണത്തിന്‍ വക്കിലെ ഉപ്പു തരിയായി
നോട്ടു പുസ്തകം തുറക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കാണും
ഉണങ്ങിയിട്ടും മണം വിടാത്ത കൈതപ്പൂവായി .
വെറ്റിലയില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഞരമ്പാകും
കുന്നിമണിയുടെ കറുപ്പാകും
ചെമ്പരത്തിയുടെ കേസരമാകും
പനിക്കൂര്‍ക്കയുടെ ചവര്‍പ്പാകും
കാന്താരിയുടെ എരിവാകും
കാക്കയുടെ കറുപ്പാകും
കലമാനിന്റെ കുതിപ്പാകും
പുഴയുടെ വളവാകും
കടലിന്‍റെ ആഴമാകും ഞാന്‍ .
സൂര്യനാവില്ല ഞാന്‍
ചന്ദ്രനോ ചക്രവാളമോ ആവില്ല
താമരയും മയില്‍പ്പീലിയുമാവില്ല
അക്ഷരമാവും ഞാന്‍
ഓരോ തലമുറയുടേയും കൂടെ
വീണ്ടും ജനിക്കുന്ന അക്ഷരം
രക്തമാവും ഞാന്‍
കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട നീതിമാന്‍റെ
മരിച്ചാലും കട്ടിയാകാത്ത രക്തം .
മഴയാവും ഞാന്‍
എല്ലാം വിശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്ന
അവസാനത്തെ മഴ

ഒടുവില്‍ വിരിഞ്ഞ പൂവിനു ഏതു നിറമെന്നറിയാന്‍
അധികാരം കൊന്ന തരുണന്റെ ജഡം
മറവിയുടെ ഏതാഴത്തിലെന്നറിയാന്‍
തടവറയിലേക്കയച്ചു മടങ്ങി വന്ന കത്ത്
ശരിയായ വിലാസത്തില്‍ വീണ്ടുമയയ്ക്കാന്‍
പാതി വായിച്ച നോവലിലെ നായകന്‍ ഒടുവില്‍
തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകപ്പെട്ട അച്ഛനമ്മമാരേ
കണ്ടെത്തിയോ എന്നറിയാന്‍
തിരിച്ചു വരും
നാട്ടു വര്‍ത്തമാനങ്ങളിലേക്കും
ഉത്സവ മേളങ്ങളിലേക്കും
പഴയ കിളിക്കൊഞ്ചലുകളിലേക്കും
ആര്‍ക്കറിയാം
ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കു തന്നെ.

About K. Satchidanandan (28 May 1946 -)
Major Indian poet and critic K. Satchidanandan writes in both Malayalam and English. Satchidanandan has made a name for himself as a scholar, editor, writer, and translator.
He was born in central Kerala, served as the executive head of the Sahitya Akademi for ten years (1996-2006), and was a professor of English and editor of Indian Literature, the academy’s periodical. In addition to numerous choices, he is the author of 23 volumes of poetry, 16 collections of poetry translations, 21 collections of essays on literature, language, and society, three of which are in English, four plays, and three travelogues.
In 17 languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, English, Arabic, French, German, and Italian, he has 25 volumes of his poems available in translation. Through translations and studies, he has also made a lot of Black, Latin American, and Indian poetry available to Malayalam readers. These poets include Garcia Lorca, Alexander Block, Voznesensky, Pablo Neruda, Cesar Vallejo, Bertolt Brecht, Paul Celan, Zbignew Herbert, Eugenio Montale, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Mahmoud Darwish, and Yehuda Amichai. He has written and lectured while traveling worldwide.
